Drawing on her extensive experience selling and appraising Romanov jewels, Marie E. Betteley has created a her own line of jewelry. Inspired by Tsarist Russia, from Ancient Muscovy to the glittering imperial capital of the last Tsar, Nicholas II, these creations reflect the beauty and fine workmanship produced by Russian Imperial jewelers. By recreating these rare jewels, many of which were lost or melted down after the Bolshevik Revolution, Marie recalls the long-lost era of glitter and refinement associated with the Romanovs.
A gemologist, Marie carefully selects the finest precious stones. Like Fabergé, she inspects all phases of goldwork and gem-cutting production and rejects what is not up to her standards. An ideal gift, and unavailable elsewhere, each item from the Marie E. Betteley Collection is sold with a fitted gift box and a custom suede pouch from Italy.
